I can and will.....go ahead punks make my day

Me....me...let me go first...me....me....me....

Well firstly I'm appauled at the lack of marketing Nintendo have done with this game, especially when they already have a large audience to pitch the game too.....sure this game isn't Mario Kart but its of the same genre...a racing game with wifi features that even uses Nintendo's Wii Wheel peripheral...how many other games utilise this peripheral....

But onto the game, well obviously I live in PAL land where the game hasn't been launched yet, but reading the varied reviews the game has received and after watching the countless videos I've found on YouTube I gotta say I'm really looking forward to playing another racer other than Mario Kart, a game I've played probably every week since launch (all 55 of them), so Why? well the game for me offers the main element I personally look for in a game, Online Multiplayer, offers a varied number of vehicles, unlockable items to work for and a whole host of other features including the fact that all your online games will count towards you offline game in the way of Stars being accumulated to buy paint jobs, collectables and unlock vehicles etc. which you can then race online too...win win.

So what have been the games complaints:
* Lack of Wii Speak Support
Wii Speak seems to have a restriction of up to 4 people (Animal Crossing) and as the online game allows you to race with up to 6 people, I'm assuming this is what the issue is, yes I know the Conduit is going to support up to 12 people online and also support Wii Speak, but it will only allow you to speak to friends/team-mates who are near you...I've not seen a number yet? (Gamer..go seek) but I'll guess and say it'll be 4. Thanks to services like Skype this problem is solved, chances are your only really going to want to talk to friends and chances are that if your in demand of a chat solution you'll both/all already have Skype on your pc's anyway...the only time your going to want to talk to anyone else is to swear numerous times at the **** who just cut you up or is annoying the hell outta ya...thats online gaming for ya

*Lack of SD Card Music
Sure this is missed from the original launch title ExciteTruck, but there is an option to turn the games Music down/off and still be able to listen to the sound effects whilst you listen to your own music in your i-pod, pc or whatever.

*Why Bugs/Animals & Not Cars/Trucks or Bikes
Its already been done...get over it, whilst I've read people bitching over the fact that there have been bugs and animals....no-one has made the suggestion of an alternative.....the characteristics of the chosen bugs/animals seem to fit in well the genre certainly in respect of weight/grip & speed......I have no issue with fact that I'm racing a bat vehicle around a track at an hurendous speed.

*Lack of Track variation between cups
From what I've seen of the videos, each track appears to have a number of route possibilites whereby you can come first or gather the most amount of stars, but then its the balance of coming first and winning 50 stars against coming last and completing the equivalent number of tricks to obtain the same amount of stars or more, the game is nurturing you into achieving the games ultimate goal as far star collection is involved, having figured out the best route for the number of stars at one level, the next level requires that you need to level up and collect more stars to achieve that essential "S" grade to progress to the next level

*The Red Bar
Gievn that each race seems to last approximately 4 minutes on average, having the break of the red bar personally doesn't bother me given the rate of information my brain will be processing whilst racing the track seeking the best route or stars depending on how I'm doing or what lap I'm on...if each race had to be driven at full speed non-stop for 4 minutes I'd probably find myself wanting to have a break anyway in-between races...

So there you have it, based purely on available media and reviews published so far, this is my personal opinion on the game, I know reviews can be a mixed bag but reading between them all, I'd say the game has critically been received well and as of today and based on 16 reviews, metacritic.com gives the game an 81% Rating out of 100% - Generally Favourable Reviews....

So go out and buy this game already if its been launched where you live, especially if you enjoy playing Mario Kart....I'm not saying you should stop playing Mario Kart but just enjoy this game for what it is and enjoy both games.

this game looks good... IMO, it has more function for the remotes sensor... in mario kart... all you have is the left turn, right turn, and the shake... in this... it has to make the wiimote use more motion this makes the game much more fun...

the semi-futuristic look to this game is also pretty intresting... not like your average racing game.

the features such as the bars... they add the twist to the game.. master them and you could get some real easy overtakes =P

sure, the music bothers me... slightly... love the title one =P but an SD slot idea wouldve MADE the game.

this isnt Mario Kart Wii's rival... this is more of an ally. these games are in two different leagues running beside each other.

i too am a bit disappointed in nintendo... hiding such a great game as this... also... not even having a release date when half the world's date has passed... this is rediculous... they shouldve had these dates ready before now.

but yeah, nintendo have done a pretty good job but i suppose it could use some more work... I can't wait to sink my teeth into this... Dark Yoshi shall be victorious.

so, coveycom, ANTMAN, you're going down xD

Tis a pain and no mistake Dandy. A scour of the net brings back many similarly peeved gamers this side of the pond. Announce the date already!

The red bar definitely gives you a break during the race, easy stars and a slight chance at catching up with the competition. I only got 1st once since playing it but it's great fun. Never do a 2-3 player race online; the chances of losing stars is higher and not really worth it. Nintendo's lack of promotion goes in line with what I've been saying for 2 yrs about the complete lack of videogame TV ads for new releases. Only certain games getting TV ad space is BS when you consider in Japan almost EVERY game gets a TV ad in some sort. Maybe with my video production skills, I'll put together my own damn commercial. It will be so good that Nintendo will hire me and I'll meet Reggie again and eventually Iwata and Miyamoto and I'll watch Miyamoto flip over the tea table and laugh my ass off. Get the game when it comes out.

So, out of the 1000s of people on this site, no one else has purchased this game? Wow... This is what happens when you don't make TV ads for your releases, Nintendo... And really, still no release date for EU. What the Hell LOL! My favorite is the mouse for now. I'm like the Air Spinning King in this game!

 This game will not be coming out in EU/AUS. It sold poorly in America. 16,000 copies i thing. Not good. I don't care any more. To hell with it. Thank you Nintendo.

Kryn..... Alfred Q was merely stating that due to poor sales he thinks its highly unlikely that the game will be released in EU/AU, given the poor sales and guessing the amount of just language translation (let alone software translation from NTSC to PAL) thats required for EU games he's probably right, although it would be a real shame as personally I would like to see the game released here.

Maybe you could explain why Alfred Q should GTFO anyway? without a reason it kinda seems weak just say it :?

Excitebots: Trick Racing came out on my Birthday. It looks really cool. Is this game really good? I might buy it if its really good. I heard that this game scored a 8.0 to a 9.5 that's really good.
