I don't own it, because I live in Europe (well it's coming to us at the 21th of February, next week), but I'll get it for sure. I played the previous game for the Wii called "Dragonball Z - Budokai Tenkaichi 2" which had the same system as DBZBT3 has. You can play it with both Wii Remote + Nunchuck or Gamecube Controller. There are many different Modes you can choose from: Story Mode, Duel (Play against Computers, Friends), Arcade Mode (Something like fighting different missions in which you have to meet conditions to succeed etc.), Tournament Mode (Earn Zeny, Fight with your Friends and Computer), WiFi Connection (Play against your Friends or Someone around the entire world [NOT REGION-LOCKED!], Z-Item Collection (Z-Items are helping your characters improving their stats like Strenght, Defence, Agility, Blast Power etc.).

Well, about the how-to-fight:

First, you're choosing a character from the Dragonball Z Series (It's 150 characters + transformations alltogether) and you're choosing a music and a stage. You'll find yourselve in a 3D map and you can move everywhere you like (so no 2D moving like in Brawl). The characters are using their individual Skills and Abilities like Goku's "Kame-hame-ha" or his "Spirit Bomb". Dragonball is based on close combat with individual abilities of each character, different moveset and different Special Moves. In Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2, the special moves where used by pressing two buttons of the Wii Remote / Nunchuk and then moving the Wii Remote while holding the buttons to perform the Character's Special Move. In Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 whatsoever, it seems that system of performing Special Moves has changed slidely. The Battles are handled with "Health Points". As you decrease your enemie's Health Points to "0", you defeated him and won. The main thing you're doing is Fighting in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, so you can think what Story Mode and Tournament Mode will be like. The Z-Items are able to increase the character's stats. Every character has to be equiped by Z-Items individualy, so you have to do that with every character. Z-Items are bought by "Zeny". In the mode "Shop" you can buy Z-Items, Legendary Z-Items and you can even buy things so you unlock them.

Let's go to the WiFi Connection Mode:

That's Wii-only, of course. Again, you can use Friendcodes to get people on your friendlist so you can see when they're online and challenge them. You can also play people around the entire world (Japan, America, Europe). Of course, the connection of you two will be effected but how far away you are of each other. Well, as you play offline, it's pretty much the same system. The host chooses the stage and the music, both are choosing their characters and the battle starts. Your Wins and Loses will be registered into your profile, means that your Wins and Loses can be shown off to your opponent.

Theory is great and all...but If you like to watch some Gameplay, please take a look at this:

And here a VERY GOOD Review for Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3:
